Description Specifications Extended Information

Hope is one of the prominent themes of the Bible. Despite Scripture's teaching on the subject, however, the true, biblical meaning of hope is often misunderstood or reduced to mere sentimentalism.

Hope is much more than a vague emotion - it has the power to change lives.

Those experiencing brokenness and hurt will find encouragement and healing as they encounter the hope of the Bible. Written from a counselor's heart, this book will also benefit pastors and others engaged in counseling ministry.

Features
  • Hope for Your Heart helps readers realize that Jesus can anchor their lives during any storm. Using nautical terms to divide the book's chapters, she invites readers to let hope recast every aspect of life:

    • Hope Is the Ultimate Life Preserver: When someone is in the depths of despair, struggling with the will to live, what do strugglers need most? They not only need truth, but also need hope the hope that God's truth will work for them. True hope saves lives!
    • Hope Is an Anchor in Every Storm: Ships at sea cannot survive severe storms without the use of anchors. And you will not survive the storms of life if you are anchorless. But with Jesus as your anchor, you not only have peace, you also know your pain is not pointless.
    • Hope Invites Us to Follow the Captain: When people let us down, or we see trust abused, we tend to hold back even when it comes to trusting God. We can have a jaded perception of what the Lord is really like. But hope invites us to trust Christ to be "Need-Meeter," as the Captain of our lives.
    • Hope Allows God's Word to Navigate Us: When you are searching for hope, look no further than the map of God's Word. The Bible's unfailing promises and inspiration empower you to live an anchored life. Without His map, you not only lose your way in life, but also lose something vital along the way: hope.

Inspirational book April 21, 2014
Reviewer: Mom of two
Hope for your Heart by June Hunt explores the intangible idea of hope. Many people speak of hope and many people feel hopeless, yet the idea of hope is a difficult concept to grasp. What, exactly, is hope? How does one find hope? What can a person do to regain lost hope? June Hunt attempts to answer these questions, and more, in this inspirational book.

Hunt makes sure to differentiate between cultural hope and biblical hope. Cultural hope is a fleeting thing while biblical hope is guaranteed! Hunt writes about Christ being the ultimate hope and expounds on the fact that as long as one is an authentic Christian, they need never feel hopeless again.

I found this book to be incredibly inspirational.  It serves as a reminder that no matter how bleak things seem, God had a plan for us and is in control. Plus, as Christians, we are assured that Heaven lies beyond this life. No matter what trials we may endure on Earth, we will find ultimate joy in Heaven.

Hope in life's struggles February 21, 2014
Reviewer: Arador from New York
Hope is typically a hard concept to define well but in Hope for Your Heart June Hunt does just that. Through stories, life experience, and nautical metaphors she presents a type of hope which is understandable and something which all Christians should have in their lives. The three sections walk the reader through different concepts and aspects of hope, while keeping chapters short and on target. Hunt offers sound Biblical counsel with many Scripture verses as support. Recommended for Christians who may be struggling with their faith or for helping someone who is.

A Study On Hope February 21, 2014
Reviewer: eig from CA
I have reviewed the book and find it a good study of the concept of Hope. The book is neatly divided into three parts, the reason for hope, the sources for hope and the benefits of hope. She uses the anchor as a metaphor for hope and storms to refer to life's problems. She uses the Bible and many personal anecdotes to illustrate what she is explaining. Te stories are often very interesting and personal. The dedication "To Hannah Till" is an inspiration and worth the book. It is definitely a resource book to keep and share with those facing life's storms.

Encouragement for those feeling hopeless February 21, 2014
Reviewer: Pastor Dan
June Hunt does a wonderful job of answering the question about finding hope in all situations, in all circumstances, in all the trials and troubles that we face. She discovered while reading through scripture that often times the concept of hope was tied in with a `nautical' theme, specifically the theme of `anchors.'

June weaves together counseling tips, scripture, Bible stories and personal stories that will give you plenty of help in developing that "hope in Christ" that can carry you through all of life.

Great work!

Hope on the Night Before Thanksgiving Day November 22, 2012
Reviewer: Anonymous Person
I was about to go to bed, thinking with some anxiety about spending tomorrow with my daughter and grandchildren.
My 2 daughters and I have somewhat of a strained relationship. I was not a good mother for several years and my actions damaged the relationships.
I just happened to read your email and saw the book HOPE for the Heart. I have the Counseling Keys Handbook, and use it in my work. I need to apply these things in my own life more.
thank you for teaching Gods Word.
